Engineering Technician i

About the Role

The City of Altoona is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician I to join our Public Works Department. In this role,

you will work with our Engineering team to support a variety of technical duties. This includes preparing and reviewing

plans and bids, inspecting materials and workmanship of projects, researching and collecting data, and analyzing

topographical details of sites. We are looking for someone who has a working knowledge of civil engineering principles

and practices. Experience with drafting and Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) software, surveying, and construction is

preferred. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to read and interpret civil engineering plans, maps, and
